If you enjoy working with cars and trucks and other vehicles this program is for you!  The Oklahoma Technical College’s Auto Mechanic diploma program prepares skilled mechanics to work in the automotive industry.  The certificate path involves automotive lecture and laboratory instruction which focuses on state-of-the-art equipment and systems.  Our program will prepare you to pursue Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. 

Graduates of the Auto Mechanic program will be fully prepared to take on entry-level positions in dealerships, service stations, automotive parts stores, and companies with vehicle fleets as general technicians. Graduates will be fully prepared to hold positions as specialists in areas like front-end alignment, brakes, automatic transmissions, engine performance, and other auto industry related fields.

As an Oklahoma Technical College student you’ll learn more than just wrench-turning. Oklahoma Technical College curriculum consists of courses in automotive technology, brakes, electrical systems, suspension and steering, and engine repair. As an OTC student you’ll learn automotive service and repair, how to provide customer satisfaction, technical aspects of the automotive industry, professionalism, systematic problem solving strategies, trade-specific jargon, and safe work-place practices. You will graduate with the education you need to succeed in the auto industry!
