If you enjoy working with cars and trucks and other vehicles this program is definitely for you! Both the Automotive Technology/Light Diesel Mechanic Diploma and Associate of Occupational Science Degree programs are designed to prepare skilled technicians to work in the automotive and Diesel industries. The degree paths involve general education as well as automotive and diesel lecture and laboratory instruction focusing on state-of-the-art equipment and systems. All General Education courses are held at main campus or offered online. Our programs will prepare you, the student, to pursue Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, with standards set forth by National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation INC. NATEF, in all 8 performance areas and truck technology.

Graduates of the Automotive Technology diploma and degree programs will be fully prepared to take on entry-level positions in dealerships, service stations, automotive parts stores, and companies with vehicle fleets as general technicians. Graduates will be more than ready to hold positions as specialists in areas like front-end alignment, brakes, automatic transmissions, engine performance, private repair enterprises, franchised truck repair organizations, and other auto/diesel industry related fields. One of OTC’s main goals is for our graduates to have applied skill level to gain entry-level employment within the industry, but also to advance in the field. 

As an Oklahoma Technical College student, you will learn more than just wrench turning and tire gauging. Oklahoma Technical College curriculum consists of courses in automotive technology, brakes, electrical systems, suspension and steering, engine performance and repair, heating and air conditioning, manual drive trains and axles, light diesel, and automatic transmission and transaxle. As an OTC student, you’ll learn automotive service and repair; how to provide customer satisfaction; technical aspects of the automotive industry; professionalism; how to inspect, diagnose, and conduct failure analysis of systems; systematic problem solving strategies; how to communicate effectively with those in the industry and those outside of the industry; safe work-place practices; and you’ll learn how to achieve a high level of craftsmanship. You will graduate with the education you need to succeed in the auto industry! Call now and start working on your Automotive Technology/Light Diesel Mechanic Diploma or Associates in Occupational Science degree soon!

The Associates of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology/Light Diesel with Industry Management degree program consists of general education courses offered at our main campus, Community Care College, or you can choose to take classes online at your convenience. These courses will further prepare you for the automotive service industry with classes like Computer Applications, Principles of Business, Introduction to Marketing, and others. Do this for yourself. Call today!

You can earn your Automotive Technology/Light Diesel diploma in as little as 52 weeks for daytime, or 65 weeks in the evening. You can earn you Associates of Occupational Science in Automotive Technology/Light Diesel with Industry Management in as little as 82 weeks daytime, or 95 weeks in the evening.
