The Technology
Welding. Soldering. Brazing. These are all skills you will become an expert in after completing the Welding Technology program. Welding is one of the most diverse, hands-on professions available. You will be able to work in industries from automotive to manufacturing and OTC teaches them all. The instructors, with an average of 25 years of experience a piece, won’t just brush over the high points but delve into the subject on a deeper level.
Courses
Instructors will be guiding you through theory and hands-on lab work from basic to advanced techniques of the following:
- Oxy-fuel welding
- Brazing and cutting
- Shielded metal arc (stick)
- Gas metalbarc (mig)
- Gas tungsten arc (tig)
- Welding of sheet metal
- Welding of plates
- Welding of structural shapes
To enhance the learning experience, the class takes monthly field trips including but not limited to touring manufacturers’ facilities, fall protection/safety seminars and non-profit organizations. Also, computer labs are open to students from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm and instructors are available for questions 24/7. At OTC, your success is our priority.
